The Red Deer and District Archives contains over 1,000 linear metres of textual records, over 100,000 photographs, 7,000 maps, plans and drawings with inclusive dates from 1850 to the present.

The Archives has a large selection of local histories for the Central Alberta region as well as housing the Red Deer Branch Alberta Genealogical Society library.

The Archives holds a selection of newspapers and census records on microfilm which are listed in the Microfilms section.
