Major Area Structure Plans

A major area structure plan (MASP) is a generalized long range land use planning tool that usually encompasses several sections of land. These plans identify major roadways, land uses (including residential, commercial, etc.), major servicing infrastructure, parks, trails and schools sites. Major area structure plans are prepared by The City of Red Deer, require City Council approval and must conform to The City's Municipal Development Plan. The City currently has three approved MASPs, The East Hill, Northwest, and the West QE2.

The City is currently developing a MASP for the area north of Highway 11A, which was annexed by The City in 2009.
