West Park Community and Area Redevelopment Plan

The draft West Park Community and Area Redevelopment Plan was presented to Council on March 18, 2013. Also reviewed were two associated amendments to the Land Use Bylaw that would:

  1. Implement the Design Criteria that would be applied to any future redevelopment in West Park.
  2. Provide site exceptions to 20 properties to allow existing legally constructed developments that don’t comply with the current Land Use Bylaw to redevelop to the same floor area and height.

The Council agenda contained a staff report, the Plan, the Land Use Bylaw Amendment and community feedback. Those documents and the video of the presentation are available here.

The link contains all of the items from Council's March 18, 2013 meeting. Scroll down to item 8.2 to find the documents related to West Park. Video discussion of the West Park ARP begins at the 5hr 40min mark of the video and you can fast forward through to that moment.

A public hearing is scheduled for April 15 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The public hearing is an opportunity for members of the public to speak directly to Council about the Plan and/or the proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw.

Letters will be mailed to all landowners in West Park during the week of March 25, 2013 to advise them of the upcoming public hearing.

Following the public hearing, Council has the option of adopting the Plan and the associated Land Use Bylaw amendments, or they may request changes to either, based on the feedback received.
