Elements of The City of Red Deer Logo
In addition to featuring a stylized capital "R" and lowercase "d" in its design, the corporate logo also represents the Red Deer River, the city's prime location along Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2), and the community's many parks and trails. More subtle elements express progression, friendliness and balance. The colour red symbolizes strength and energy while fawn represents consistency and credibility.
Corporate Identity Standards
The City of Red Deer corporate identity is a valuable organizational asset that distinguishes The City of Red Deer's services from those of other organizations. The logo is the single most important element of The City of Red Deer's corporate identity and as such, its use is managed and protected.
Because the use of the logo should reflect the corporate identity of The City of Red Deer, authorization to use the logo on any printed, electronic or promotional material is restricted to the purposes outlined in the  Corporate Identity Standards Guide. Permission to use the logo for purposes not outlined in this guide must be obtained from The City of Red Deer Communications and Strategic Planning Office.
Use of The City Logo
By Contracted Agencies
Agencies contracted to work on behalf of The City of Red Deer will use the logo when identifying projects or work directly related to The City of Red Deer.
This applies to the RCMP, Parkland Community Planning Services, Tourism Red Deer, Normandeau Cultural & Natural History Society, River Bend Golf & Recreation Society and the Red Deer Public Library. When using The City of Red Deer logo, contracted agencies will use one of the following phrases:

When any city department or operation donates funds to support any community initiative, The City of Red Deer logo will be used on that initiative's promotional materials. When using The City of Red Deer logo to identify sponsorship, it will be accompanied with one of the following phrases:

Use of The City Crest
The City of Red Deer Crest is the official Coat of Arms of The City of Red Deer. It represents the heritage of Red Deer and symbolizes the incorporation of Red Deer as a City.
The City Crest will continue to be used by The City of Red Deer for official purposes including documents requiring the official seal, Mayor and Council use, flags, Council Chambers, City Hall, and City Awards including the Mayor's Recognition Awards and Employee Awards.
