Alberta Electric System Operator  (AESO)
The AESO is mandated to ensure a safe and reliable interconnected power system in Alberta. The AESO has a number of roles in the Alberta electricity marketplace, including:

  • Facilitate Alberta's hourly wholesale electricity market
  • Provide fair and open transmission services
  • Coordinate of provincial load settlement

Alberta Utilities Commission  (AUC)
The AUC is an independent, quasi-judicial agency of the Government of Alberta that is responsible to ensure that the delivery of Alberta's utility services take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.  The AUC regulates investor-owned natural gas, electric, and water utilities and certain municipally owned electric utilities to ensure that customers receive safe and reliable service at just and reasonable rates.

Energy Resources Conservation Board  (ERCB)
The ERCB regulates the safe, responsible, and efficient development of Alberta's energy resources: oil, natural gas, oil sands, coal, and electrical energy; and the pipelines and transmission lines to move the resources to market.

Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA)
The UCA works to ensure that Alberta consumers have the information, representation and protection they need in Alberta's restructured electricity and natural gas markets.

Alberta One Call - (Call Before You Dig)
The mission of Alberta One-Call is "to prevent damage to buried facilities through education, advocacy, public awareness and dependable cost-effective communication and exchange of information between members and those intending to disturb the ground."

The Corporation provides a toll free phone number (1-800-242-3447) that allows anyone planning to disturb the ground in Alberta to communicate a request to the owners and operators of buried facilities that the locations of such facilities be marked by the owners prior to excavation.

ATCO Gas 
ATCO Gas distributes natural gas throughout Alberta to industrial, residential and commercial customers.  ATCO Gas provides the delivery, customer care and distribution systems that ensure natural gas is available when you need it. ATCO Gas bills your retailer for delivery costs, and your retailer passes these costs on to you. For information about your bill or specific charges, please contact your energy retailer.

Canadian Electricity Association (CEA)
The CEA is the national forum and voice of the evolving electricity business in Canada. The Association contributes to the regional, national and international success of its members through the delivery of quality value-added services.

Electricity Forum (EF)
The EF provides up-to-date, in depth technical information to North America's high-voltage electrical industry. It provides information to the electrical industry. 

The City of Red Deer Electric Light & Power Department (EL&P)
EL&P's primary responsibility, as a regulated wires service provider, is to plan, operate and maintain Red Deer's electric transmission and distribution facilities to reliably deliver power to every customer in The City's service area. The department does not generate electricity. EL&P is responsible for handling residential and commercial service applications and provide a range of customer services including:

  • New service constructions and connections
  • Meter installation, testing and maintenance
  • Electricity usage analysis
  • Power quality monitoring and analysis

The City of Red Deer Public Works Department
The Public Works Department manages The City's Waste Management,  Water/Wastewater and Treatment Plants for The City of Red Deer.

The City of Red Deer Utility Billing Service Centre
The City of Red Deer Utility Billing Service Centre is backed by a team of service-oriented staff, located right here in Red Deer. They will: 

  • answer your water, wastewater, garbage and recycling billing questions;
  • manage your water/wastewater account and services, and;
  • process your payments.
