School Programs

The City of Red Deer Emergency Services department sponsors and participates in numerous school and youth oriented education initiatives, in conjunction with IAFF Local 1190, Red Deer Fire Fighters Community Fund, City RCMP and the PARTY (Prevent Alcohol and Risk related Trauma in Youth) program, our goal is to prevent injury and death in youth through education.

We also attempt to educate school age children (and their parents) during organized tours of our firehalls. Children are given a talk about fire safety, 911, home escape plans, then given a demonstration of what a firefighter looks and sounds like when we enter a house for rescue. A tour of the facility and apparatus rounds out the experience.

Tours can be booked with Emergency Services Administration at 403-346-5511 during usual business hours.
