The City of Red Deer Corporate Green Team
The City of Red Deer is becoming a more environmentally friendly corporation. In order to help us improve the environmental footprint of our businesses, we are forming the first ever
City Green Team.
The Green Team
is an internal committee, designed to encourage, empower and support staff to “green” City departments and activities. The purpose of the Green Team is to reflect the importance of environmental issues within the organization, to foster a conservation ethic throughout the organization, and to raise awareness and enhance employee engagement in corporate environmental issues caused and/or impacted by The City’s day to day operations. The Team will be made up of representatives from a number of City departments with the goal of providing a balanced cross section of all City operations.
Team members will provide information and leadership on environmental issues and act as the contact point for staff within their areas to suggest new or improved environmental programs. The Green Team will analyze information, review internal environmental initiatives and provide suggestions to Administration for improvements or new programs, measure program success and disseminate information on environmental issues.
For more information on The City's corporate environmental programs, contact
