E-Waste Recycling

The City of Red Deer Waste Management Facility has become a designated collection site for Electronics Recycling, Alberta's electronics recycling program. Further information on the program is available from the  Alberta Recycling Management Authority. As part of that program the Waste Management Facility will accept the following materials free of charge:

  • TV's
  • Computer Monitors (CRT & LCD)
  • CPU's
  • Printers/Printer Combinations
  • Computer Peripherals (mouse, keyboard, cables, desktop computer speakers)
  • Laptop/Notebook computers

In addition to the materials listed above, the City of Red Deer Waste Management Facility will accept the following additional materials free of charge:

  • Answering machines
  • CD Players
  • Cell Phones
  • Circuit Boards
  • DVD Players
  • Fax Machines
  • Microfiche readers
  • Network Equipment
  • Pagers
  • Photocopiers
  • Projectors
  • Telephones
  • Uninterruptible Power Supplies
  • VCR's

These materials can be dropped off at the Waste Management Facility free-of-charge, provided that customers are willing to do a double weigh in and out. This may be required so that the weight of the e-waste can be determined separately from the other materials.
