The Environmental Services Department manages four sections:
- Waste Management
- Water
- Wastewater
- Construction and Maintenance
- Environmental Initiatives
The mandate of the Environmental Services Department is to;
- Ensure environmentally responsible policies, plans, standards and operations related to the environmental impacts from stormwater management, potable water management, wastewater management and waste management are in place
- Monitor the impacts on the environment of human actions and decisions regarding stormwater management, potable water management, wastewater management and waste management
- Provide a corporate focus, contact point and organizational awareness of cross departmental environmental concerns
- Engage, educate and partner with the community to advance environmental initiatives.
