The Red Deer Heritage Recognition Awards are intended to recognize outstanding efforts in heritage preservation within the city of Red Deer and Red Deer County.The Red Deer Heritage Recognition Awards were established in 2002 by the Heritage Preservation Committee. The Heritage Preservation Committee is an Advisory Committee to Council; its mandate is the preservation and maintenance of human and natural heritage features in Red Deer and the surrounding area for the perpetual enjoyment and education of the public. As part of this mandate, the Committee is charged with developing public awareness of heritage resources.Award Categories Each year the Heritage Preservation Committee presents Red Deer Heritage Recognition Awards to projects or persons that demonstrate excellence in heritage preservation in one or more of the following categories:
