System Requirements



Web Map Viewer: 

The Web Map viewer will work on all major operating systems and browsers. The latest version of each browser is recommended for Web Map to function correctly. Although older browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 are supported, map functionality will be limited. 

There are also components of Web Map that require Active X to be enabled. If you are experiencing difficulties using components such as the search control, please check that your security settings are not blocking Active X controls. The City of Red Deer cannot guarantee that your browser will function correctly with Web Map. 

Internet Connection:

  • It is recommended that Web Map be viewed on a high-speed connection.
  • Web Map will run on a dial-up connection but may be slow

Screen Resolution:

  • It is recommended that Web Map be viewed with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
  • Web Map will display on lower resolutions, but will not give the user the best map possible.

Other Requirements:

  • You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view the documents
  • If you have a pop-up stopper installed or if a pop-up stopper comes with your browser, you must set it to allow pop-ups from "http://webmap.reddeer.ca"
