Smoke Free Bylaw

On June 20, 2005, Red Deer City Council approved a new  Smoke Free Bylaw 3345-2005.

The City of Red Deer became smoke free in all indoor public places and work places on June 1, 2006.

The intent of the Smoke Free Bylaw is to prohibit smoking in all indoor public places and work places including: 

  • drinking establishments
  • bingo halls
  • casinos
  • patios
  • public transportation vehicles (including taxis)
  • grandstands
  • restaurants
  • sidewalk cafes
  • private clubs
