Houses a growing directory of businesses located across the province. More than 155 member municipalities, including The City of Red Deer, have assisted in collecting and maintaining thousands of business records.

You can add your business to the database. The general public can carry out a search by company name or by product produced. Results are presented on a record by record basis, including business name, address, phone, fax, Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) and product and service details. 


Alberta Research Council
Works with industrial partners to develop new products, processes and services to offer innovative solutions to industrial challenges, and to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of Alberta business. 

Business Link (Business Service Centre)
Provides you with information and advice on business start-up, incorporation, financing and loan programs, product source, government and private sector programs and services. 

Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
Is a non-governmental organization established to develop uniform nation-wide standards on products, processes and procedures. Vendors can apply for and receive CSA certification/approval.

Competition Bureau - Industry Canada
Consumer Products ensures product labelling information, accuracy of net quantity declarations and validity of claims on a wide variety of non-food products, textile articles and precious metals articles at all levels of trade. The following Acts and Regulations are administered and enforced by Industry Canada, Consumer Products Directorate:

Industry Canada
Provides detailed market, product and industry information needed for the business planning process. Promotes investment, tourism and small business development through various sub-agencies and programs.

Red Deer College Library (Information Access Program)
Has a substantial collection of books related to small business. The library also provides business magazine, directories, statistical information and free access to the Internet.

Red Deer Public Library (Business Publications Section)
Offers an Information Access Program where companies can link to local and global information sources for ongoing or one time information needs. Information experts will perform online and manual searches and retrieve articles and books worldwide. The library has access to over 500 international databases, including the World Patent Index. 

Universal Product Code (UPC)
UPC is a system for uniquely identifying the thousands of different suppliers and millions of different items that are warehoused, sold, delivered, and billed throughout retail and commercial channels of distribution. This system of product identification provides manufacturers, retailers and distributors with a management and information tool to uniquely identify products and logistical units throughout the supply chain. 

Western Economic Diversification (WD)
Working in cooperation with industry associations, financial institutions and the four western provinces, WD works to address the needs of small business and business services.
