The department of Land & Economic Development is a resource to businesses in Red Deer. Our number one goal is to support business growth.
Land & Economic Development:
- Utilizes Land Bank to fund, develop and market new industrial, commercial and residential land,
- Develops land for new and current businesses to develop and grow,
- Facilitates development by administering leases and licenses to occupy City-owned land,
- Facilitates access to business development experts and agencies,
- Provides information on federal and provincial grants and credits,
- Identifies potential commercial and industrial opportunities,
- Promotes investment opportunities in Red Deer by responding to inquiries for information on business start ups, business retention, land, relocation and statistics,
- Conducts proactive business visitations targeted primarily at the industrial and manufacturing sectors,
- Prepares promotional and statistical information on The City of Red Deer and surrounding area to market Red Deer to external audiences,
- Provides assistance to investment delegations, site selectors and fact finders exploring investment opportunities in the Red Deer area.
