The Public Works Department maintains a number of City buildings and manages two sections:
- Roads
- Equipment Fleet
The mandate of the Public Works Department is to:

Ensure responsible policies, plans, standards and operations related to the roads infrastructure, fleet equipment, building maintenance and materiel management services are in place.

Ensure that The City’s infrastructure assets are maintained in optimum condition.

Provide financially sustainable support services in the areas of fleet equipment, building maintenance and material. management services to City departments
The Public Works Department is responsible for:
- the roads, bridges, lanes, sidewalks and signs.
- the Equipment Fleet.
- building maintenance.
