Enhanced Policing

Enhanced Policing
Enhanced Policing objectives began in August 2000 to answer the concerns of the public and business owners in the downtown area. Citizens expressed concerns that bar patrons were not only causing property damage, but creating a poor social environment by fighting, creating excessive noise and loitering on the streets of downtown Red Deer.

The City of Red Deer, the Downtown Business Association, the Policing Commission, and the Red Deer RCMP combined their efforts to provide extra RCMP manpower on Friday and Saturday nights in downtown Red Deer to enforce "zero tolerance" when dealing with detrimental or destructive behaviour of bar patrons.

Special Events Enforcement
Red Deer City Detachment provides additional resources on the following dates to ensure the safety of its citizens and the enjoyment of the community:

  • Canada Day Celebrations
  • Red Deer Rebel hockey games
  • Halloween
  • New Year's Eve
  • CentreFest Festival
  • Westerner Days

Enhanced Service
