Domestic Violence Unit:

The RCMP is committed to the safety of the citizens in the communities we police. One of the highest priorities regarding safety is the reduction of domestic violence. Domestic violence can include mental, physical, sexual and emotional abuse by one partner towards his or her partner, their children, the elderly and disabled. By extension, the abuser may at times destroy or withdraw familial access to personal property which can include pets, friends or anything that can be leveraged against those persons he or she wishes to intimidate.

As part of our commitment to reduce these crimes, the Red Deer City RCMP Detachment has Domestic Violence Unit that is comprised of three members along with a social worker. The Domestic Violence Unit is committed to working in partnership with Federal, Provincial and local agencies to promote awareness and prevention of family violence.

The City of Red Deer is policed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
