The Red Deer City RCMP are pleased to offer Operation Traffic Watch, an online traffic complaint form.
Operation Traffic Watch is a convenient service for citizens to provide the RCMP Traffic Service with details of traffic offences within the city of Red Deer. The RCMP Traffic Service unit will investigate all traffic related offences reported through Operation Traffic Watch. If you wish to provide details of a traffic offence within the city of Red Deer by phone, the RCMP complaint line is 343-5575.
Use Operation Traffic Watch if:
- you have witnessed a traffic offence within the city of Red Deer
- you would like to report that offence to the RCMP Traffic Services for investigation
What information will I need to provide:
Operation Traffic Watch will ask you to provide detailed information describing:
- date, time and location of the offence
- the roads and weather, road conditions, occupants within the vehicle, signage and a description of the offence you witnessed
- description of the offending vehicle
- your contact information as a witness
- contact information for all other witnesses to the offence
The RCMP Traffic Service unit will:
- investigate your Operation Traffic Watch complaint
- provide follow up and investigation in the same manner as complaints received by telephone
- maintain confidentiality of all information submitted through the form
Users should be aware that submitting a false report for malicious reasons or even as a practical joke is a very serious offence (Public Mischief S. 140 of the Criminal Code) and can result in criminal prosecution.
