One of our goals is to help Red Deerians to keep our city as naturally diverse as possible, so part of our role is to provide information about pests that may threaten this biodiversity or cause concern. Often, citizens may not be aware of the problems some pests can cause. Many weeds look pretty, for example, and the damage they do to the ecosystem may not be noticeable until it’s too late. Likewise, many trees in Red Deer have been under attack from a variety of tree pests, which can go unnoticed if residents don't know what to look for. We’ve developed some information sheets to help you identify and deal with these pests. Please do your part in keeping our parks and urban forest healthy and free of disease.Visit the Parks pages provided to learn more about the wildlife, vegetation, and pests in Red Deer.
