Community Associations

Community Associations are major contributors to the quality of life in Red Deer. They plan activities and special events, manage local activity centres and outdoor rinks, and make sure that your neighbourhood spaces are clean, safe, and meeting your community’s needs. They also encourage community input on many levels and deal with issues and concerns such as crime and safety and planning.

Your local community association is always looking for volunteers with fresh ideas and a desire to help build welcoming, safe and vibrant neighbourhoods where we live, work and play.

Contact your local community association to join or purchase a membership and enjoy several benefits including discounts on activity centre rentals, family fun swim nights and other community events throughout the year.

The Great Neighbourhoods Initiative is community driven project based on a partnership between the Community Associations of Red Deer (CARD) and The City of Red Deer's Neighbourhood Facilities and Community Development (NFCD) area of the Recreation, Parks & Culture department.

The initiative was developed to collaboratively enhance the quality of life in our neighbourhoods. The initiative is growing, incorporating many of the things that the citizens of Red Deer identified as important to them in the Great Neighbourhoods Survey.  See the results below.
