Business Recycling

Blue box

Every tonne of recycled office paper eliminates the need for approximately three cubic metres of landfill space and saves approximately 17 trees.

Recycling Depot
There are two recycling drop off depots for individuals and small businesses. The first location is at the Waste Management Facility at 1709 40 AVE. The second location is at Waste Management of Canada located at 6207 47 A AVE. The drop off areas are located just inside the fence at these two facilities. Tips For Setting Up An Office Recycling Program

  1. Choose a coordinator.
  2. Design a method for gathering the paper.
  3. Determine how paper will be delivered to the depot.
  4. Motivate employees to participate and inform all staff of what they can recycle.
  5. Designate a "watch dog" to keep the coordinator informed of success or shortcomings in the program.
  6. Keep your employees informed about successes, problems and any changes in your program.
The key to a successful office recycling program is a three-stage information/education strategy including a "kick off" memo from the chief executive to every employee, one or more information sessions and follow-up publicity on program performances.
