Frequently Asked Questions

What is e-billing?
City of Red Deer utility customers can now choose to receive an electronic copy of their monthly utility information. As a customer, you will be notified when your bill is ready to view via e-mail. By logging into a secure link called My Utilities, you will have access to your e-bill, account information, and history. You can then pay your bill through your financial institution.

Why is The City of Red Deer moving to e-billing?
E-billing is both convenient and environmentally friendly. With e-billing, you can view your utilities billing information anytime from any internet connection. No more waiting for the bill in the mail. Plus, you will have access to up to two years of billing history online. It’s a great way to save paper, reduce clutter, and help the environment.

Is this secure? What will you do with my information?
My Utilities is safe and secure. Your personal information is collected under the authority of The City of Red Deer Utility Bylaw No. 3215/98 and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act, Section 33(c). It will be used for the purpose of account administration, debt collection, credit checks, customer verification and may be shared with other City departments for a consistent purpose. If you have any questions about this collection, please contact the Accounts Receivable section, The City of Red Deer, 4914 - 48th Avenue, Red Deer, AB., T4N 3T4 or telephone (403) 342-8203.

What if I don’t want an e-bill?
The service is completely voluntary. You can continue to receive a paper copy of your bill if you would prefer. If this is your preference, no action is required.
