(Red Deer, Alberta) – The City of Red Deer invites visual artists to take part in the Alexander Way Celebration on August 25 from noon to 5:30 p.m.
Artists are invited to apply now to rent a booth to display and sell their artwork. Applications should be accompanied by three to five images of the artist’s work. All art on display at Alexander Way must be the original work of the exhibitor.
Non-tented 10 x 10 foot spaces are available for $10 each. Limited power is available for an additional charge of $10.
Artists are also invited to apply for featured artists roles. Each year, The City of Red Deer hires artists to do hands-on art demonstrations with the public during the Alexander Way Celebration. Interested artists should submit a curriculum vitae, statement of intent and 10 images of their work along with their application form.
Application forms for booths and for featured artist roles are available at Culture Services, 3827 39 Street, or by calling Wendy Meeres at (403) 309-3083. Deadline for applications is July 13, 2007.
The Alexander Way Celebration is an annual street party celebrating the arts. It takes place on Alexander Way (48 Street) between 49 Avenue and 51 Avenue.
