Youth Voice offers exciting opportunities for youth

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Youth Voice, a Red Deer group aimed at getting youth more involved in tackling local issues, will hold its first weekly meeting on Wednesday, September 19.

Youth Voice, a program for youth ages 13 to 22, meets weekly to discuss and take part in initiatives such as: encouraging youth to vote, improving access to transportation and recreation, and other issues such as education and bullying. Youth are able to meet with stakeholders, develop and initiate local projects and hold special events. It provides opportunities to gain volunteer hours and experience as well as giving youth the chance to ‘buff up’ their résumés.

The first meeting for this year will take place on Wednesday, September 19, from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. in the Wild Rose room, which is located on the fourth floor of City Hall, 4914 – 48 Avenue. For more information, please contact Linda Healing at 342-8342.
