Free fun at the Recreation Centre - The City of Red Deer

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Ever held a yoga pose while balancing a pottery dish? Ever hula-hooped underwater? Chances are you haven’t, but you can get in on the action at the Red Deer Recreation Centre Sunday Sensory Showcase this weekend.

The event runs this Sunday, April 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Recreation Centre, 4501 47A Avenue. You and your family can see and experience what the Recreation Centre has to offer – for free!

Art and pottery will be on display and for sale, plus you can learn about public art and take a walking tour through the facility and park.

Engage your mind and body with yoga or martial arts sampler classes, or marvel at the athleticism of water polo and synchronized swimming demonstrations.

To top it off, our special public swim at 2:30 p.m. features a rock-climbing competition on our new aqua walls. Admission is only a toonie for adults and a loonie for youth.

Complimentary light appetizers and refreshments are available. We will also accept donations of non-perishable items for the Red Deer Food Bank.
