Fare increases:
Transit users are reminded that increases to Transit fares will take effect September 1. With the increase, single fare fees will cost users an additional five cents per ride.
Effective September 1, single cash fares are as follows:
- Adults (18 to 64 years) $2.15
- Youth (6 to 17 years) $1.85
- Students $1.85
- Seniors (65+ years) $1.85
- Children (5 and under, except in preschool groups) Free
- Preschool groups $1.85 per two children
Monthly Bus Passes:
- Adult $60.00
- Students/Seniors $52.00
Tickets (sheet of 12)
- Adult $22.00
- Youth/Students/Seniors $19.00
The City of Red Deer increases Transit rates annually in response to inflation and expenses. A portion of this increase reflects enhanced service, including increased low floor bus service to better serve people with mobility challenges or who use strollers.
Route changes:
Effective August 24, Routes 1 and 10 will undergo minor routing changes. Effective September 2, School Overload Routes 20 and 35 will also be adjusted.
Transit riders are advised to view new route and schedule information at webmap.reddeer.ca. Route changes will take effect on August 24. New Ride Guides are now available at City Hall Information, on board all buses, and at all Transit ticket sale outlets. School Overload brochures are available at City Hall Information.
Enhanced Low Floor Transit Service is delayed:
Due to delays in the delivery of Transit’s new low floor buses, the enhanced low floor service shown in the Ride Guide will not be offered until September 30.
Routes 3 & 5 will offer low floor service once per hour beginning September 30. On Routes 4 & 11, low floor service will continue to run once per hour until September 30, when full low floor service will begin.
