17th Annual Community Sport Banquet
February 11, 2008
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Volunteer coaches, officials, administrators and athletes will be recognized at the 17th Annual Community Sport Banquet on Sunday, February 24.
Each year, the banquet is held to honour those who excel in their sport and volunteer their time and effort to better our community. It recognizes individuals and groups who are committed to sport and recreation in Red Deer.
Awards for the evening include the Sport Volunteer Award of Merit; Minor Coach Award; Red Deer Minor Hockey Commission’s Builder of the Year Award; Red Deer Advocate’s Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, and Female and Male Grassroots Awards. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the 49th Annual Sportsman Award.
The banquet will be held at 5 p.m. at the Red Deer Royal Canadian Legion on 2810 Bremner Avenue.
The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $16 and $12 for children under the age of 13. They can be purchased at the Legion. Reserved seating is available.
