Firefighters begin annual Christmas tree pick-up
January 7, 2008
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deer Firefighters will once again provide a Christmas tree pick-up service for Red Deer residents.
Residents can place Christmas trees on their front lawn for pick up from January 14 to 18. Please do not place trees in plastic bags and ensure all decorations and stands have been removed.
Donations to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity are greatly appreciated. They can be made directly to the firefighter picking up your tree or mailed in the pre-addressed envelope left in your mailbox to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity. Receipts are issued for donations that are $20 or more, or upon request.
Donations to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity are used to support local children’s charities. Last year, the Christmas tree pick-up raised over $10,000 and since 1981 has given over $300,000 to various children’s organizations and community projects.
“On behalf of the Red Deer Firefighters and Local 1190, we thank all residents for their continued support,” said Brad Readman with Red Deer Firefighters.
For more detailed information regarding the pick-up schedule please call (403) 346-5511.
