Major road widening project set to begin July 22
July 17, 2008
Sections of 40 Avenue and 77 Street are being widened to accommodate a two-lane divided roadway starting Tuesday, July 22. Construction will take place along 40 Avenue from just south of the Three Mile Bend access road to 78 Street Crescent. Part of the widening project will also include a portion of 77 Street near the 40 Avenue intersection.
Reconstruction of the access to Olymel from 40 Avenue and the relocation of the Three Mile Bend entrance will also take place. Upgraded street lights and new traffic signals at the intersections of 40 Avenue/ 77 Street and 40 Avenue/ Three Mile Bend are included in the project. Construction is expected to last until October 15, 2008.
Access through these areas will be maintained during construction. Motorists can expect delays.
Motorists are asked to obey all traffic signs, and to slow down in construction areas. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated.
