Street closures along Westerner Days parade route July 16

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Several downtown streets will close to traffic along the parade route during the morning of Wednesday, July 16 for the Westerner Days parade.

Barricades will be set up along the route at all intersections starting at 9:15 a.m. The parade will travel along the following streets:

  • North on 47 Avenue from the arena grounds
  • West on 53 Street to Gaetz Avenue
  • South on Gaetz Avenue to 48 Street
  • East on 48 Street to 48 Avenue
  • South on 48 Avenue to 43 Street
  • East on 43 Street back to the arena grounds

Closures are expected to last for three hours until the parade ends. Access to the downtown will be extremely limited during this time. Transit service will also be disrupted during the parade.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to bypass the downtown core during the parade. Streets will reopen as soon as the parade has ended. Delays are expected.

Motorists are asked to obey all street closure signs, and watch for increased pedestrian traffic. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated. A detailed map of the parade route is available at www.reddeer.ca
