Work begins on 60 Street pedestrian corridor

June 25, 2008

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Construction will begin on a sidewalk and new traffic calming features on the north and south side of 60 Street from 54 Avenue to 51 Avenue on Thursday, June 26. Environmental Services will relocate several catch basins beginning June 26, and Public Works will begin sidewalk work on July 7, 2008.

During construction, temporary traffic control measures will be in place and there will be heavy equipment working alongside 60 Street. Work is scheduled to last approximately one month. Work on the project is not anticipated during the weekends. Work is also weather-dependent and dates may vary.

Citizens are asked to stay a safe distance from machinery, to obey all signs, and to slow down in construction areas. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
