City supports expanding airport passenger service
March 25, 2008
The City of Red Deer echoes those who say that growth of the airport and surrounding area will mean good news for the city and the central region.
“There is no doubt that there is demand for increased services out of Red Deer. Independent studies have already said it and we know that as the growth of our region continues, so will airport demand,” said Mayor Morris Flewwelling.
Offering expanded passenger services will make the central region a more attractive place to live, work and do business.
“The City supports the airport’s plans to bring forward exciting new opportunities for both businesses and residents. This direction makes good sense - it aligns with the priorities of a growing community,” says Mayor Morris Flewwelling.
“The City will continue to support the airport in its endeavors and welcomes much needed funding such as that from Transport Canada that will assist the airport in moving its vision forward.”
