Council meeting for Gaetz Avenue and 32 Street Intersection

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deer City Council is holding a Council meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 31 to review the proposed functional design of the Gaetz Avenue and 32 Street intersection.

The project team will present a brief history of the project, a summary of the public consultation process and major themes that emerged, and an overview of the technical design. Stakeholders and interested members of the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

Upgrades to the intersection, intended to improve traffic movement and safety, include amenities for walking, cycling and bus transit, and create an attractive street using landscaping and decorative elements.

Funding for this project has been approved in the 2008 Capital Budget. Administration will recommend Council endorse the proposed functional design at the March 31 meeting.
