(Red Deer, Alberta) – Bower Ponds Pavilion concession and boat rentals re-opened for public use on Saturday, May 10.
Facility hours are as follows:
May 10– 31
Weekdays: 4 – 9 p.m.
Weekends/holidays: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
June 1 – August 31
Weekdays: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Weekends/holidays: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
September 1 – 30
Weekdays: 4 – 8 p.m.
Weekends/holidays 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
“We encourage the public to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Bower Ponds,” says Deb Comfort, Neighbourhood Facilities and Community Development Supervisor with The City of Red Deer. “Whether it is a peaceful walk, bike ride or a chance to rent a canoe and boat on the water, Bower Ponds has it all.”
Space within the Bower Ponds Pavilion can be booked for small gatherings and special events. Those interested in bringing their events to Bower Ponds may call 403-309-8426 for booking information and rates.
For information on renting paddle boats, kayaks and canoes, and the rental rates, please call 403-318-6298.
Citizens are reminded that swimming is not permitted in Bower Ponds and that it is not healthy for the ducks and geese at Bower Ponds to eat bread. Corn for feeding the ducks is available for purchase at the Bower Ponds Pavilion concession or at Kerry Wood Nature Centre.
