Residential street sweeping to begin

May 1, 2008

(Red Deer, Alberta) – The City of Red Deer’s Public Works Department will be sweeping residential streets from approximately May 6 until June 12, 2008. The street sweeping schedule is dependent on weather and dates may vary.

A day before sweeping, Public Works crews will place a large sign at the entrance of the affected subdivision advising that street sweeping will be done the next day. “No Parking” signs will also be set out on roads to be swept a minimum of 12 hours before work begins. Residents are requested to watch for these signs in their areas.

Vehicles left parked on signed streets will be ticketed and towed. Street sweeping will take place from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sundays to Fridays.

Citizens are asked to stay a safe distance from sweepers, to obey construction signs, and to slow down when passing maintenance workers. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
