New traffic signals for Ross Street
September 25, 2008
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Two new sets of traffic signals have been installed along Ross Street, one at 38 Avenue and another set at 36 Avenue (Michener Avenue).
Starting Monday, September 29, yellow and red lights will flash at these intersections to alert motorists of the new signals. This will continue until October 1 when the signals will be fully operational. Once the signals are live, the pedestrian signals at Ross Street and 37 Avenue will be removed.
These changes will improve traffic flow for intersecting roads along Ross Street and ensure safe crossing for pedestrians.
Drivers approaching a flashing yellow signal may proceed through the intersection with caution. Drivers approaching a flashing red signal must stop, observe the right of way and proceed when safe.
Pedestrians and drivers are asked to be aware of these new signals and use caution in the area. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
