(Red Deer, Alberta) – Three City departments are on the move with Community Services packing up and heading over to the Alexander Way building at 4817 48 Street on August 7. Assessment & Taxation Services and Land & Economic Development will also move into new locations over the next three weeks.
“These moves are needed in order to better serve our customers. Rather than have staff from one department scattered over several locations, which makes it very difficult for customer service, these moves will ensure that the affected departments are able to have all of their staff together in one location,” said Paul Meyette, Inspections and Licensing Manager.
Currently, Human Resources staff are spread out with some located at the Professional Building and some in the Alexander Way building. When Assessment & Taxation Services move into City Hall, Human Resources will take over the space left behind. All Human Resources staff will then be located in the Professional Building at 4808 50 Street.
The following schedule is set for each departmental move:
- Community Services will move from the fourth floor of City Hall (4914 48 Avenue) to the Alexander Way building (4817 48 Street) on Friday, August 7.
- Assessment & Taxation Services will move from the Professional Building (4808 50 Street) to the fourth floor of City Hall (4914 48 Avenue) on Friday, August 14.
- Land & Economic Development will move from the third floor of City Hall to the Alexander Way building (4815 48 Street) on Friday, August 28.
- All Human Resources staff will now be located in the Professional Building (4808 50 Street).
Some operations may be affected as a result of office equipment moves that will take place on the Friday afternoon of each move. This will ensure departments are up and running in their new location on Monday at 8 a.m.
“We want to ensure a seamless transition, and once staff from each department are planted in their new homes it will be business as usual. In fact, it will be better than business as usual because this move facilitates better communication and collaboration among staff and citizens,” said Meyette.
