Lions Campground open for the 2009 season
May 1, 2009
(Red Deer, Alberta) – The Lions Campground is open for the 2009 tourism season. Located along the Red Deer River close to trails and amenities, the Lions Campground is one of Red Deer’s local gems.
“We are pleased to be able to provide a quality camping experience in our community, “said Deb Comfort, Neighbourhood Facilities & Community Development Supervisor. “We anticipate another busy summer with the possibility of an increase in the number of people choosing to stay close to home.”
In order to accommodate all campers, The City has implemented at Lions Campground a two-week maximum stay, which will be strictly enforced for the months of July and August.
“As more tourists visit Red Deer, we want to accommodate those traveling through the area,” said Comfort. “We want everyone to be able to benefit from our facilities.”
The campground is secured from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. to ensure visitors have an enjoyable experience. All visitors are expected to check in with the campground operators.
Campers are also reminded that reservations are not accepted at the campground. Campers are registered on a first-come, first-served basis only. The City’s Lions Campground is not a part of the Province’s recently announced campground reservation program for provincial campgrounds and recreation areas.
The Lions Campground is open from May to the end of September. For more information please call 403-342-8183.
