(Red Deer, Alberta) – The City of Red Deer will be posting the Mayor’s and City Councillor’s individual expenses on The City’s website as of April 19, 2010.
“All government must be open and accountable to citizens, and The City of Red Deer is no exception,” said Elaine Vincent, Legislative & Administrative Services Manager. “Posting Council’s expenditures on the website is just one step in transparency; it shows residents how their tax dollars are being spent by their elected officials.”
The annual budget for the Mayor and Councillors will be provided with detailed expenditures on a quarterly basis and can be found in the City Council section of the website.
