Parkland Community Planning Services, as part of The City of Red Deer’s Planning Services Division, is hosting a public Open House, where individuals can review the proposed Direct Control District for the Railyards area.
Date: Thursday, April 8, 2010 Time: Drop in between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Location: The Hub on Ross 4936 Ross Street Red Deer, AB
The City of Red Deer Greater Downtown Action Plan (GDAP) was updated in 2008 following a series of public and stakeholder consultations. It provides the broad directions for future development of Greater Downtown Red Deer and guides the future preparation of area redevelopment plans, zoning amendments, and other land use strategies.
The proposed land use bylaw amendment aims to create a district that is in keeping with the vision set out in the GDAP for the Railyards neighbourhood. This vision is of a vibrant mixed-use area, with an emphasis on high-density urban living, attractive streets, and an array of services, including restaurants, grocery stores and daycare centres.
If you would like to attend the Open House and cannot use regular transportation because of a disability or physical need, Red Deer Transit’s Action Bus offers transportation services to citizens of Red Deer with disabilities. For more information, or if you require transportation, please phone 403-309-8400.
If you cannot attend but still wish to provide your input, please contact Haley Horvath at Parkland Community Planning Services by phone at 403-343-3394 or by e-mail at haley.horvath@pcps.ab.ca.
