August 27, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta)- Beginning Friday, August 27, the Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park will close due to construction. The park will reopen on Friday, September 3. Residents are asked to use Three Mile Bend until the Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park reopens.

Located on 19 Street and 40 Avenue, east of the Westerner complex and south of the Living Stones Church, the Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park is in the final construction phases. Over the winter, agility stunts and park signage will be put in place, with an official opening planned for spring 2011.

Once complete, the 30 acre dog park will feature amenities such as paved and gravel trails, picnic areas, rain shelters, an agility park, an amphitheatre, and perimeter fencing.
