Ross Street road closures required for Veterans' Park
August 6, 2010
(Red Deer, Alberta) – As work continues on Veterans’ Park, The City will be closing down Ross Street from 49th Avenue to Gaetz Avenue August 7 to 8.
The road closure is necessary to install manholes and catch basins for Veterans’ Park. “We have scheduled this work for the weekend to minimize the impact to commuters,” said Curtis Martinek, Project Specialist with The City of Red Deer.
Once the underground work on manholes and catch basins is completed over the weekend, asphalt repairs on Ross Street must happen before the road is re-opened to traffic. Monday August 9 between 7 A.M. and 2 P.M. traffic will be re-routed to one lane on the north side of the Cenotaph.
“Once repairs are done and the asphalt has been compacted and cooled to the point where it can safely handle vehicle traffic we will remove the temporary detours,” said Martinek.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
