Fare increases: Transit users are reminded that increases to Transit fares will take effect September 1. With the increase, single fare fees will cost users an additional five cents per ride. The Transit Customer Service centre at Sorensen Station will open on September 1 and will offer ticket and pass sales, transit information and a lost and found. Tickets and passes may also be picked up at any Transit sales outlet.
Effective September 1, single cash fares are as follows:
- Adults (18 to 64 years) $2.25
- Youth (6 to 17 years) $1.95
- Students $1.95
- Seniors (65+ years) $1.95
- Children (5 and under, except in preschool groups) Free
- Preschool groups $1.95 per two children
Monthly Bus Passes:
- Go Pass (Adult) $62.00
- Students/Seniors $54.00
Tickets (sheet of 12)
- Adult $23.00
- Youth/Students/Seniors $20.00
Day passes $7.00
The City of Red Deer increases Transit rates annually in response to inflation and expenses.
Route changes effective August 22: Each year, Transit reviews all routes to increase coverage, improve service and enhance efficiency. A number of routes are affected this year. Transit riders are advised to view new route and schedule information at: webmap.reddeer.ca. New Ride Guides will be available after August 9 at the City Hall Transit Information desk, on board all buses, and at all Transit ticket sale outlets. School Overload brochures will be available after August 16 at the City Hall Transit Information desk.
Affected routes: Route 1, Route 3, Route 5, Route 7, Route 9, Route 10 & Route 50
Deleted route: Route 6 will be replaced with improved service on Routes 3 & 10.
School Overload route changes: Effective September 1, School Overload Route 39 will also be adjusted. School overload brochures will be available after August 16 at the Transit Information desk in City Hall.
Low Floor Transit service: Regular Transit Routes 1 through 12 are serviced with Low Floor buses, subject to equipment availability. Passengers are encouraged to contact Transit Information to ensure that Low Floor buses are available for specific routes.
