Outdoor ice rinks and Bower Ponds open for winter season
December 2, 2010
Outdoor neighbourhood ice rinks, located next to Community Activity Centres within Red Deer, will open on Friday, December 3. Bower Ponds, including the Pavilion concession and skate rentals, will open to the public on Monday, December 6.
The Bower Ponds Pavilion hours will be as follows:
Regular schedule starting December 6:
Weekdays 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Weekends 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Holiday Schedule:
December 20 - 23 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
December 24 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
December 25 closed
December 26 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
December 27 - 30 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
December 31 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
January 1 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
For the skate rental schedule at Bower Ponds Pavilion, please contact 403-318-6298. If you are interested in booking Bower Ponds Pavilion for your event, please contact The City at 403-309-8411.
Other outdoor rinks, which are located in neighbourhood parks without Community Activity Centres, and the Speed Skating Oval will open next week.
The City reminds users of Bower Ponds, the Speed Skating Oval, and the neighbourhood ‘snow bank rinks’ that hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted and a CSA helmet is recommended for all ice activities.
