February 18, 2010
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Beginning February 20 and through to Sunday, March 7, 48 Street in front of the downtown Fields Store will be closed to traffic. The closure is required to provide a workspace for the delivery and unloading of pre-cast concrete girders for the parkade. The workspace will also include a crane to unload the girders.
The crane will also be dismantled in the road closure area once all the girders have been placed. Trucks delivering the girders will travel eastbound from 51 Avenue down 48 Street and onto the south side of the parkade, where the girders will be unloaded.
Twelve to fifteen loads of girders will pass through the downtown Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
All hazardous areas will be taped off and staff will be on the site to monitor the movement of pedestrians during activities to ensure safety.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
