(Red Deer, Alberta) – City Council approved a 2 per cent increase to management staff salaries at Monday night’s Council meeting. The increase is effective July 1, 2010.
The increase affects 125 exempt employees, including the City Manager, directors, managers, superintendents, supervisors, professionals and specialists.
“We tried to strike a fine balance between fiscal restraint and the need to keep a motivated, committed management workforce that provide services Red Deer citizens expect,” said Marge Wray, Human Resources Manager. “This year, we saw a wide disparity of wage increases in the public sector ranging from 0 to 5 per cent, but after examining our local economic reality, and the need to maintain relative wages we felt this mid year increase of 2 per cent is appropriate.”
