(Red Deer, Alberta) – Ross Street will be closed to traffic from 49 Avenue to 50 Avenue beginning Friday, February 19 from 5 p.m. until midnight on Sunday, February 21.
The road closure is required so the crane on top of Executive Place can be taken down.
A mobile crane will be set up Friday evening and used to dismantle the tower crane on Saturday, February 20. Once the tower crane is loaded and hauled away, the mobile crane will be taken apart on Sunday and removed from Ross Street.
All hazardous areas will be taped off and crane removal staff will be on the site to monitor the movement of pedestrians during lifting activities to ensure safety.
Removal of the tower crane will be weather dependent and may have to be re-scheduled based on wind conditions.
