(Red Deer, Alberta) - The annual City of Red Deer WinterFest skating party will be held at Bower Ponds on Sunday, February 14, 2010. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m.
WinterFest celebrates winter with interactive activities for people of all ages. The fun includes jam can curling, live entertainment, art and nature crafts, skating and snowshoeing. Food will be sold on site in the Bower Ponds Pavilion and the Cabane à Sucre will be back, selling their traditional maple syrup sweet treats.
The main stage entertainment begins at 1 p.m. with the popular comedy juggling duo The Chairmen, followed by musical entertainment by Cathy Vetter and Lisa Heinrichs.
Admission to WinterFest is free. Please note there is no ATM on site; citizens are advised to bring cash if they wish to purchase food.
The WinterFest celebration will not take place if the temperature drops below -20 degrees Celsius with the wind chill. For more information about WinterFest, please call 403-309-3389.
