(Red Deer, Alberta) – Local dog owners are invited to apply to have their dog spayed or neutered for free. As part of a project approved by City Council in 2005, $2 from each dog tag sold last year will be used to fund a dog spay / neuter clinic.
The City of Red Deer in conjunction with the Red Deer and District SPCA and Alberta Animal Services, is offering the program to city of Red Deer residents to help control the over population of dogs in Red Deer.
Citizens wishing to apply for the clinic must fill out and submit an application form to Inspections & Licensing by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010. Only one fully completed application form will be accepted for each licensed dog. Applications cannot be submitted on-line.
Application forms are available, at the following locations:
- Online copies at www.reddeer.ca/inspections
- Inspections & Licensing (Third Floor, City Hall)
- SPCA (4505 77 Street)
- Alberta Animal Services (4640 61 Street)
As a result of the limited funds for the program, not all applications will be successful. If your application is successful, you will be contacted by April 7, 2010 and you must make arrangements for the procedure to be performed by no later than May 28, 2010.
