(Red Deer, Alberta) – Members of the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity will once again provide a voluntary Christmas tree pick-up service for Red Deer residents, however Red Deerians are reminded this service is a fundraiser.
Residents can place Christmas trees on their front lawn for pick up from January 9 through January 16. Residents are asked not to place trees in plastic bags and ensure all decorations and stands have been removed.
“Christmas tree pick-up is not a City funded service and we rely on the generous donations of the citizens of Red Deer to keep this annual campaign alive,” said Ben Barthel with Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity.
Donations to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity are greatly appreciated. They can be made directly to the firefighter picking up your tree or mailed in the pre-addressed envelope left in your mailbox to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity. Receipts are issued for donations that are $20 or more, or upon request.
Donations to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity are used to support local children in Red Deer. Anyone wanting to mail in donations can send them to Box 535, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5G1.
“On behalf of the Red Deer Firefighters and Local 1190, we thank all residents for their continued support,” said Ben Barthel.
